Edmonton Cooking & Stories 2023
A fun and engaging health program for students ages 8 to 15 years, integrating healthy cooking, storytelling, art, culture, confidence, and character-building to promote development.
Students – 8 to 15 years. Older students in junior/high school are welcome to participate.
This coaching program comprises 27 modules based on the WISDOM curriculum by Adventures In Wisdom.
Full schedule will be provided to those who register. Students should plan to invest up to 50-60 hours between January to December 2023 for classes and homework. Each instructor-led session is up to 2-3 hours per session, with homework and activities also taking a minimum of 2-3 hours per month; students should plan a minimum commitment of 4-6 hours per month for a total a 50-60hours minimum throughout the year.
This program is delivered FREE to the Residents of Edmonton in 2023; sponsored by the CITY OF EDMONTON.
This program is for Black students ages 8 to 15 years who reside in Edmonton. Younger and older students can participate if they enjoy listening to life-enriching stories and/or cooking yummy treats.
This program helps our students to build lasting skills for lifelong health and happiness.
Join us as we make yummy healthy treats while sharing life enriching stories for character and confidence building.
There are 27 modules covering topics like Self-Esteem, Self-Confidence, Self Responsibility, Integrity, Respect, Self Respect, Goal Setting, Decision Making, Vision, Handling Peer Pressure, Mistakes, Disappointment, etc – all while cooking/sharing yummy healthy recipes.
This batch is for young Black Students in Edmonton Alberta. This program aims to engage our young community members, building upon existing cultural wealth. The program will enhance social inclusion, foster connections and support communities

Students should plan to invest a total of 50 – 60 hours between March to December 2023. This is a hybrid program with a blend of in-person and online events. Each session is up to 2-3hours per session, and another 2-3 hours for homework and activities.
ACTUAL DATES, MEETING LINKS FOR VIRTUAL EVENTS AND ADDRESS FOR IN-PERSON EVENTS WILL BE SENT BY EMAIL ONCE REGISTRATION IS CONFIRMED.
These classes involve sharing awesome life-enriching stories and doing homework – things the kids will never learn in the classroom. Activities include arts, crafts, meal plating, recipe sharing and more.
This Life Skills Enrichment program comprises 27 modules based on the WISDOM curriculum by Adventures In Wisdom.
We have integrated sharing recipes for healthy treats to encourage healthy eating among young people.
We also incorporated doing art/crafts/games to inspire their creativity and make the program fun.
